Mombasa, KENYA: The parents of two minor girls kidnapped seven and five years ago respectively, reunited with them on Tuesday for the first time in 7 years.
The two girls aged now aged 14 and 10, were received by their emotional parents who had been waiting for the court to hand them over.
However, a third child barely two years old was put in the custody of Happy Children’s Home in Nairobi until his parents are identified.
Mothers to the minors remained speechless with tears flowing down their cheeks as they hugged their daughters and thanked God and the Children Protection Unit for tracing their children.
They said they had lost hope of ever getting back their children after several attempts to locate them and they feared that they probably had died.
A father to one of the minor girls said he lost his job in Nairobi in the process of searching for the daughter after she failed to return from school.
Senior Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache called upon the media to help the young boy find his parents.
In September 26 2016 a couple purporting to be the biological parents of the minors were charged at Shanzu Law Courts with kidnapping of the three minors.
Margaret Juma Magero and David Ochieng Ometho believed to be husband and wife are believed to be part a church group involved in a trafficking syndicate of children locally and internationally with the aid of one of the accused sister living in Switzerland and married to a Swiss husband.
