Nairobi,KENYA:President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring prosperity of the nation.

Speaking when he led the Nation to celebrate Jamhuri day, Mr. Kenyatta said the Jubilee administration has made great strides in areas of Education, Agriculture, Transport and other sectors.

He further urged for unity among Kenyans.

The president also promised the nation that the upcoming elections would be free, fair and peaceful.

Mr. Kenyatta also sent messages of condolences to the families of Kenyans who perished in the grisly Naivasha road carnage.

He urged Kenyans to be vigilant on the roads especially during this festive season.

“As Christmas approaches, we must be careful. We are very saddened by what happened in Naivasha and other accidents that have claimed innocent lives in other parts of our country. We must not be seen to be building roads so at to finish our people”, he said.

During the National celebrations held at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, the Kenya Defence Forces got a chance to display to the nation their skills, including trooping of the colour.
