Kenya fall to Uganda as EALA beat Burundi in Parliamentary Games

Mombasa,KENYA:Uganda thwarted Kenya’s hopes of claiming its maiden soccer title in the East Africa Community inter Parliamentary Games with a 1-0 beating at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa on Monday.

Uganda’s skipper Ali Brian Nato scored the lone goal in the 71st minute against a Kenyan side lead by Kieni MP Kanini Kiega, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.

Kenya’s female lawmakers led by Kilifi County Women Representatives Aisha Jumwa got better of their Ugandan counterparts in Volleyball, winning 2-0( 26-24, 25-18) at the Makande Gymnasium Hall.

Uganda registered a similar result in men’s volleyball after they beat Tanzania 25-12, 25-12 while Rwanda were given a walkover after Burundi failed to field a team.Kenyan women parliamentarians also gave free points to Uganda after the hosts failed to field a team in netball.

Elsewhere East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) launched its men soccer title defense on a positive note beating Burundi 2-1 at Mbaraki Sports Club.

On Tuesday Tanzania will play Uganda while Burundi will tackle Rwanda in netball at the Makande Gymnasium.

In Men’s volleyball Kenya will entertain Uganda as EALA take on Burundi.Tanzania will play Uganda in men’s soccer as Burundi come up against Rwanda at Mbaraki Sports Club.
