Lamu, KENYA: Hundreds of women from Mpeketoni in Lamu County have benefited from a free automobile driving training programme where they acquired skills on how to drive vehicles and motorcycles.
The programme was sponsored by Lamu women rep Shakilla Abdalla through the National Government Affirmative Action Plan-NGAAF.

“Our joy is to see women get the first priority especially during employment when the Lapsset finally begins functioning. All we are doing is preparing this women to benefit from and acquire their rightful employment space at the LAPSSET,”said Shakilla.
She said a different programme to sponsor youth with disabilities to also acquire motors skills would also commence soon after which they will also be accorded licenses to operate.
