Nairobi, KENYA: After opposition chief Raila Odinga visited Kilifi county, fierce exchange of words have ensued between CORD members of parliament and those allied to jubilee led by majority leader Aden Duale.

In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings on Thursday, CORD legislators led by Mombasa Women Rep Mish Mboko ,Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Suba MP John Mbadi slammed Duale of personalizing and trivializing corruption matters affecting national and county governments.

The legislators indicated that it is improper for Duale to link Odinga to corruption which is rocking some counties; instead of forwarding his allegations to the relevant authorities which are tackling corruption.

They said that Kilifi government led by Amason Kingi has taken measures to curb corruption, insisting that the opposition do not condone any form of corruption; as any CORD governor including Kingi if found guilty, should face the law.

The legislators said that Duale’s move is a diversionary tactic by Jubilee administration of failing to fight mega corruption scandals including Eurobond ,NYS and sh.5 billion Ministry of health saga.

On the other hand, Duale leading Jubilee members of parliament turned heat to top Kilifi government officials including Governor Amason Kingi; accusing him of corruption tendencies in his county which has led to loss of millions of shillings.

Duale said that he has written to the EACC and central bank to investigate the matter.
