Starlets’ striker Mwanahalima Adam nominated for SOYA awards

Nairobi, KENYA: Harambee Starlets forward Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Adam has been nominated for the 2016 Sports Personality of the Year Award SOYA in the schools category.

The diminutive striker had a splendid year where she lead St. Johns to claim the 2016 national school games title and went on to finish second in the East African Secondary School Games.

The performance saw her scoop the Most Valuable Player MVP accolade in the girls’ category at the East Africa Games, having finished as the top scorer.

Mwanahalima who is  currently sitting  for her KCSE exams, will face 10 other nominees from different disciplines to take home the coveted prize.

Boys’ nominees have MVP player John Odinga who lead Barding to national finals, he is the only soccer player in the list of 10 contestants.

St. Johns who are the national champions, will battle it out with runners up Wiyeta Girls and Nyakach Girls among other teams in the girls’ school category.

Boy’s champions Laiser Hill, Bukembe and finalist Barding High will be competing for hte boys’ title, which has other teams from different discipline.
