Mombasa, KENYA: The government through its spokesperson Erick Kiraithe has condemned some media houses for what he alleges as being used by some politicians to spread false information and propaganda about several government projects.
Speaking to Baraka FM on Friday, Kiraithe said that some of the politicians who are very quick to criticize, were once in the government and they were sacked for engaging in corruption.
“These are people who colluded to do funny tenders in the past where the public lost a lot of money, they can use their freedom of expression however we shall use the laid down legal procedures to complain against the media houses who were publishing this information knowing it to be false”. He said.
Kiraithe said some of the politicians are colluding with media houses to lie to Kenyans.
“They have gotten other friends who are journalists and media houses which are used by the same politicians to condemn recent developments that are being done by Jubilee government.”He blamed.
Kiraithe urged Kenyans to be keen and selective in what they hear from the said politicians, assuring them that the Jubilee government will continue with the projects and deliver on their promises they made to Kenyans.
“This government will continue implementing these projects that are life changing, anybody who committed any act of corruption is either dismissed or prosecuted, adding that the project will continue because they are there for the benefits of Kenyans.” He finally said.
On corruption, Kiraithe said, the named government officials are still being investigated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and when they will be found guilty; they will be prosecuted.
