Kilifi, KENYA: Police in Kilifi have launched investigations over the killing of a man whose body was found dumped at Mbuzi wengi in Kibaoni.
The body was spotted by Mnazi (palm wine) vendors in the wee hours of Monday morning, when they had gone to plan their day’s activities at the local Mnazi bar.
Addressing the press in his office on Monday evening, Kilifi OCPD Alexander Makau said he suspects that the man was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the area.
“It is suspected that he was killed elsewhere and his body dumped here but we will not rest until we get to know who did this evil action. I would also urge the public to cooperate with the police in conducting investigations,” said Makau.
The police could not tell the identity of the deceased, as he had no documents with him when his body was discovered.
His body was taken to Kilifi County Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification by relatives.
