Mombasa, KENYA: As Americans go to the polls majority of Kenyans are anxiously following the elections to see who will get to replace one of their own as the president of the most powerful country in the world.
Polling stations opened early on Tuesday morning in states like New Hampshire , Indiana and New Jersey .The rest of the states are expected to vote later in the day.
Baraka FM toured the streets of Mombasa on Teusday and spoke to some of the residents about the US elections.Majority of the residents we spoke to think that Hillary Clinton will take over Barack Obama at the white house.
Raphael Odieng one of the residents we spoke to thinks that Clinton’s would make a good president because of her past experience with in the American government and her policies.
“Clinton is best place to replace Obama as her past track record speaks for itself” Odieng said.
“Her policies are not only for the benefit of the American people but also but also for the benefit of the rest of the world .” He added.
David Ochieng also thinks that Clinton will take the because her closest rival Donald Trump has not convinced Americans that he is good enough.
“You cannot talk to voters like they are your employees and expect them to vote for you, Clinton is best suited.” He said.
We also got to speak to a visiting missionary Robert Morgan who is a republican supporter and thinks that Hillarys closest rival Donald Trump is fit for the presidents office.
“To be honest Hillary is having a lot of problems due to her dishonesty.”
“Democrats are not fit to be in Power as they have opened up the gay rights and put Americans in debt under Obama.”he added.
A mock election was also conducted in Kogello village, in Siaya County where Barrack Obama’s Father hails hails from and Clinton won with a landslide.
The elections are expected to wind up later in the day with Americans getting to know Obama’s successor by tomorrow.
