Nairobi, KENYA: Impressive Harambee Starlets edged Egypt 1-0 in an international friendly match played the Karasani Stadium, Nairobi on Friday afternoon.

Viviane Corazon 37th minute strike proved crucial as the David Ouma coached side responded to a 1-0 defeat they suffered at home to Cameroon in another test match played a fortnight ago.

The visitors did little compared to the hosts who could have carried the day with a bigger margin, should they have converted numerous chances they created.

Skipper Mary Kinuthia and Esse Akida both got better of the opponent’s defense but saw their efforts thwarted by the Egyptian keeper who was busy for the better part of the proceedings.

Starlets and Egypt both used the clash as part of their preparations for the forthcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations scheduled for Cameroon starting 19th November.
