Nairobi, KENYA: Boston and Chicago marathons winner Rita Jeptoo has had her two-year doping ban doubled to four years.

This comes after the Court of Arbitration CAS on Wednesday upheld an appeal by the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF.

Her initial ban was due to end in four days-time but has now been extended to 30th October 2018.

The ruling means she has been stripped off her 2014 Boston and Chicago Marathon titles.

Jeptoo, 35, was due to be crowned World Marathon Major Champion for 2014 but the ceremony was cancelled after she failed a drug test.

Kenyan Athletes have in the recent past been faced with doping cases, with over 40 runners reportedly failing tests.
