Eldoret, KENYA: Javelin star Julius Yego has thanked fans for standing with him during one of his trying moments after he was involved in a road accident on Sunday night.
The world champion was rushed to an Eldoret hospital for treatment Sunday night after his car collided with a lorry, leaving the one week old car wrecked.
After learning of the accident, fans through social media showed their love to the two-time African champions with overwhelming well-wishing messages.
In return, Yego who has confirmed he is in a stable condition has since acknowledged the support on his Facebook page through a statement which reads in part;
‘’This is horrific to see! But no words can express what to say! My living God was with me, big thank you my almighty you ar a true living God I will forever glorify your name,’’!
‘’To all Kenyans thank you am a life thank you for prayers’’.
Yego is currently recovering from an injury he suffered during the August Rio Olympics Games where he won a silver medal with his first throw.
