Mombasa, KENYA: Two people are nursing serious injuries and admitted at Likoni sub-county hospital, after they were attacked by a group of boda boda riders who accused them of being thugs.
A motorcycle valued at sh 100,000 was also burnt to ashes during the Sunday morning confrontation.
The victims nursing injuries have been identified by one name only; Abdirhaman and Omar both in their early 20s.
Police said the duo were accosted by a group of about 20 boda boda riders who accused them of being members of a criminal gang that has been attacking them at night.
They were rescued by good Samaritan who later informed the police.
Police who were doing their normal patrol arrived on time and took them to Likoni district hospital.
Likoni police boss Willy Simba condemned the attack of the two suspects terming it unfortunate.
He warned the riders not to take the law into their hands and asked them to report to police who will in turn follow up the matter.
The burnt motorcycle has been taken to Likoni police station as an exhibit.
Police said no arrest has been made so far but investigations have been launched.
