Mombasa, KENYA: The Mombasa law courts Tuesday rejected an appeal to have the widow of slain controversial muslim cleric sheikh Aboud Rogo released on cash bail.
Lady Justice Dora Chepkwony ruled out that she had not found sufficient reason to interfere with the ruling that granted the Ms Haniya Rogo a sh. 1 million cash bond.
Judge Chepkwony further gave the state counsel 7 days to appeal the decision failure to which Haniya would be released.
Rogo’s widow and the three ladies are accused of having links to a terrorist organization.
They are also accused of failing to provide information to the police officers that would have been used to prevent the September 11th terror attack at the central police station in Mombasa.
Haniya had been granted a sh. 1 million cash bond before the state counsel filed an application to appeal on the decision.
