Mombasa, KENYA: Super 8 Mombasa Premier League entered its match-week 26th over the weekend with all the four matches pitting title contenders staged at the MTTI ground on Sunday.
Much of the attention though was channeled to joint league leaders Good Hope FC and Wananyuki FC who both lived up to expectations by cruising to victory.
Good Hope comfortably defeated Cross Road 2-0 to maintain their title chase, thanks to goals in either half from Mohammed Mwamlandi and Gift Vitalis.
In response, Wananyuki FC put up a hard fought performance to claim a 3-2 success over determinant Lysa FC piling more pressure on leaders Good Hope.
Other matches staged at the same venue saw Bamburi United coast past Likoni Spurs 2-0 while Umber Sports were 1-0 winners over Boca Junior.
After 26 rounds Good Hope leads the 16-team table on 55 points, same with Wananyuki who have inferior goal difference while Bamburi are third on 54 points.
