Lamu,KENYA: Lamu county has finally witnessed the official launch of Huduma centre.
Speaking at the official launch of the centre on Friday, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth and Gender Sicily Kariuki has urged residents to access the centre at all times.
Kariuki said that the centre aims to make delivery of government services easy and efficient for all.
“The Centre is open for all no one will face discrimination of any kind neither ethnic nor religious, it is here for all of you,” she said.
The CS also issued a cheque of sh. 4 million of the Affirmative fund for youth and women of Lamu county.
“I appeal to beneficiaries of the funds to repay the loans promptly to enable more kenyans benefit and maintain stability of the programme,” she added.
Lamu residents have expressed their relief after the centre was finally launched.
” At last things will be easy in our county, it was hectic whenever you think of getting national documents angalau tutapumua na sie,” said one of the residents.
The ministry through the Cabinet Secretary said they will launch similar centres in Migori, Murang’a, Marsabit and Narok by November 2016.
Lamu Huduma Centre is the 41st fully operational centre that enables citizens to access government services from a single physical location through an electronic platform.
