Woman charged in court for operating training institute illegally in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: A woman was on Wednesday charged in a Mombasa court for allegedly running a technical and vocational training institute without accreditation; contrary to vocation training act.

Phelista Wandati was arrested on Tuesday 11th October in her office located at Ganjoni area in Mombasa county.

Court heard that Wandati operated Patana Training Institute without a license from the Technical and Vocation Education and Training Authority .

She pleaded not guilty to the charges before Mombasa chief magistrate Julias Nang’ea.

Magistrate Nang’ea ordered the accused person to be released on a surety bond of sh.200,000 or cash bail of sh.100,000.
