Nairobi, KENYA: National men’s soccer team Harambee Stars will play two more international friendlies before the end of the year.
A statement from the Football Kenya Federation FKF on Wednesday confirmed that Stars will be away in Liberia on 9th November before taking on Togo four days later.
The ties are scheduled in line with the next FIFA international calendar which runs as from November 7-15.
The friendlies either are planned to offer head coach Stanley Okumbi humble time to assess the squad in readiness for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Stars are unbeaten in their last six matches including a famous 1-0 victory away at DR Congo a fortnight ago, thanks to a Michael Olunga strike.
Elsewhere, their women counterparts Harambee Starlets will jet out on Thursday for Cameroon for a series of friendly matches.
The David Ouma coached side is expected to face off with the hosts, Egypt and Cameroon as they prepare for the forthcoming Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
Starlets are pooled together with title holders Nigeria, Ghana and Mali in the continental showpiece slated for November 19th through December 3rd in Cameroon.
Pool A comprises of hosts Cameroon together with Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
