The much awaited Chris Brown concert finally went down on Saturday 8th October 2016 at the Mombasa Golf Club; with the American R&B singer living up to expectation throughout his performance.
The event was organised by Kenyan promoters Wale Wasee, Mombasa Rocks among other partners; who worked day and night to see that the concert was a success.
The concert saw performances from various African Artistes with the likes of Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania, Ugandan rapper, Navio, and Kenyan rapper, Nazizi also getting the opportunity to entertain the crowd.
Wizkid, also known by his stage name as Star Boy, gave his best hits among them Caro and Ojuelegba; accompanied by a live band that ensured the crowd was dancing to all these hits.
There was a bit of drama during the concert, as Tanzanian Star Ali Kiba performed after Wizkid; with some wondering how could Wizkid be Kiba’s curtain raiser.
To add on that, Ali Kiba only performed two of his songs Mac Muga and Aje before he left the stage for Chris Brown; leaving fans wanting more.
It was a non-stop performance by Breezy (Chris Brown), when he took over the stage at around 1 am for exactly one hour and 10 minutes to entertain his fans.
Backed by his two dancers, the American popstar thrilled the fans in a full-energy performance with the crowd singing along to their favorite tunes, including Zero, Deuces, With You and Loyal.
About 2, 000 revelers attended the heavily secured concert with GSU, regular police and private security guards; that was also graced by politicians, media personalities and celebrities in Kenya.
The concert came to an end with the emcees of the night comedian Jalang’o and Tv/radio personality Amina Abdi bringing Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to the stage; where they danced to some music.
Also, there was a great display of fireworks and Ali Kiba came back to the stage to make it up for the short performance he had before.
The event organizers hinted that the next artiste to come will be American pop star/rapper Nicki Minaj; promising nothing but the best for the coming concerts.
