Administration police officer arrested for “selling” gun to Alshabaab returnee

An Administration police officer attached to Vijiweni AP camp in Likoni has been arrested for allegedly selling the lost gun to the arrested Alshabaab returnee.

The suspect identified as Caxton Musyoki, was arrested by Flying squad police along Lungalunga road after he was mentioned by the suspect arrested in Likoni earlier this week.

Detectives probing the matter said the officer sold the gun at sh. 35, 000. He is alleged to have  first been paid sh. 20,000 cash and later  on sh. 15,000.

Confirming the arrest to Baraka FM on Wednesday, Likoni Police boss Willy Simba said they are in the process of interrogating the arrested officer, so as to gather more information.

“We are interrogating him as per now after he was implicated by the Alshabaab suspect who was arrested on Monday. We will give you more information later on.” Said Simba.

On Monday evening, police arrested  Rahma Bamama,30, who turned out  be an Alshabaab returnee, in Mrima area Monday evening with a G3 riffle,magazine and one round of ammunition of 7.62mm.

The riffle belonged to a police officer who lost it in June this year.
