Okumbi names Stars squad to face DR Congo

Nairobi, KENYA: 2015-Kenya Premier League Most Valuable Player MVP Michael Olunga has returned to the starting eleven as head coach Stanley Okumbi releases Harambee Stars squad to take on DR Congo in an international friendly on Tuesday.

Olunga who ply his trade with Swedish side Djurgaden IF will partner KPL last season’s top-scorer Jese Were in goals onslaught.

Meanwhile Zesco United midfield linchpin Anthony Okumu has been slotted to fill anchor man’s void left by skipper Victor Wanyama who could not travel with team.

Spanish based midfielder Ismael Gonzalez also earned rare starting berth in the absence of injured Ayub Timbe.

The starting XI:

Boniface Oluoch (GK), Jockins Atudo, David Owino (c), Brian Mandela, Aboud Omar, Anthony Akumu, Ismael Gonzalez, Eric Johanna, Rama Salim, Jesse Were, Michael Olunga.
