Nairobi, KENYA: National men’s soccer team Harambee Stars will have to do without the services of skipper Victor Mugubi Wanyama who did not travel with the team ahead of their Tuesday friendly match against hosts DR Congo.
Wanyama who delivered a man of the match performance during Tottenham 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, could not arrive on time for the fixture due to unavailability of favorable flight from London.
Meanwhile a contingent of 19-players lead by head coach Stanley Okumbi left the country Monday morning for Kinshasa Congo where they will tackle hosts in a test match starting 1830hrs.
Stars will be hoping to bank on the match to improve their FIFA Rankings should they beat 51st ranked DR Congo compared to Kenya who sits 91st , according to the August Rankings.
