Kilifi, KENYA: Kilifi county governor Amason Jeffah Kingi has refuted claims that he has pledged to work with the Jubilee government.
This follows an article in one of the dailies in Kenya that purported so.
Speaking to the press at the state in Kilifi county headquarters on Monday, governor Kingi termed the article as a lie and misleading.
He said he will never quite CORD coalition in order to get development projects.
“This article is a total lie,I want to assure the people of Kilifi County that their governor is determined and has a strong stand that he will never join the leading party.” Said governor Kingi.
According to Kingi, he has never thought of joining the Jubilee government because of the few initiated projects;which normally commence very late.
Kingi said as the national government, they have the obligation and responsibility of giving Kenyans equal services.
“What the national government is doing is a total discrimination and only because we do not support the government,” said Kingi.
Kingi added that he had been receiving calls from the residents regarding the article and assured them that all is ok.
“I am hereby calling upon the people of Kilifi not to panic because I have no intention of betraying them.” Said Kingi.
