Nairobi, KENYA:Judicial Service Commission has nominated Court of Appeal Judge David Maraga to succeed Willy Mutunga as the new chief justice.
This is after interviews last week.
His name has now been forwarded to president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Justice Maraga who says he is a staunch, the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA), member, was one of the three Court of Appeal judges who applied for the position of Chief Justice.
As a judge, he is described as always punctual, serious with cases before him and in full control of the court.
He portrayed himself as a man of integrity given his staunch religious background though he stated he would not work on a Saturday (Sabbath day according to SDA).
