Mombasa, KENYA: Anti-terror police in Mombasa have arrested six other suspects including a woman in Majengo area, linked to the recent botched central police station attack.
The suspects whose names are yet to be released, were arrested around Sokoni area in Majengo at around 6 pm on Monday, authorities said.
Mombasa police boss Lucas Ogara confirmed to Baraka FM on Tuesday that there was a massive operation at Majengo area, adding that it was a normal police operation.
“The operation is normal and it will continue till we flash out all criminals, it is a normal police operation,” said police boss.
A Police source who is not allowed to speak to media due to his rank, said there were two different police operations carried in the area,one by the anti-terror police and the other by regular police.
The five young men were arrested by regular police being accused of mugging.
The woman arrested is said to have been monitored and she was being sought by detectives following the recent central police station attack in Mombasa.
