Mombasa,KENYA:The son of slain cleric Sheikh Aboud Rogo caused a scene on Thursday breaking the camera of a journalist seen taking photos of his mother in court.

Joseph Okanga, a photographer with Reuters was forced to sit in court and follow the proceeding instead of carrying out his assignment after his camera was broken in the line of duty.

Rogo’s son was allegedly furious after journalists continued taking photos of him hugging his mother despite instructing them not to.

He then slapped the camera off the journalist’s hand breaking it into pieces. However, the journalist refused to pick it and instead demanded for a new camera.

However, Human rights group Haki Africa who were present during the trial, promised to replace the camera.

The mother Haniya Saggar was arrested by anti-terrorism detectives and interrogated over the foiled attack at Central police station in Mombasa.
