Mombasa,KENYA:Opposition leader Raila Odinga has been endorsed as the ODM presidential flag bearer to fight it out with other Coalition for Reforms and Democracy CORD principals for the ticket to face President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 General elections.

Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho said the ODM Party leader is fit to be the commander in chief of the republic drumming up support for him.

Speaking in Mombasa during ODM’s 10-year anniversary held at Mama Ngina grounds, Joho urged Kenyans to elect leaders who are not tainted by corruption and who will fight for their interests.

“Raila has struggled all the way to fight for this Nation. He has stood firm to ensure the Kenyan constitution is upheld and all the stipulated laws are enforced,” he said.

Other CORD principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula are also in the race.

Ms. Idah Odinga- Raila’s wife- who was present at the event, urged Kenyans to reject the jubilee party alleging that it was openly engaging in corruption by using money to entice the people.

‘We have seen some people selling themselves to the devil, in the name of seeking developments for their people while they have all the rights to do so without stooping so low. Let them go the door is wide open,” she said.

In his speech, the CORD leader scoffed at Jubilee party’s tactics saying it is “buying” support after engaging in corruption.

“The Jubilee party has started auctioning leaders from different parties in the name of creating one party. For me hii ni kama nyani itoke msitu wa boni ikimbilie msitu wa shimba hills,” he said.
