Nairobi,KENYA:President Uhuru Kenyatta on saturday graced launch of mega Jubilee party which oversaw 11 which were dissolved this week.
In his speech, President Kenyatta said that Jubilee is a national party which will bring about the appreciation and celebration of the diversity of 42 million Kenyans by working together as different communities to build on those things that they share in common.
“I want to reiterate that this party that we launch is not about Uhuru Kenyatta or William Ruto, it is about a generation of state of changeand a living proof of the mistakes we have learnt from the past.”Uhuru said.
He urged Politicians to uphold mature politics in order to avert divisions among Kenyans and embrace unity in the country.
“Politics of this new century started with the call of unity in 2002. However, no sooner had that diverse and united government taken office
than the cracks again appeared. Much was achieved in development and economic growth but disunity along ethnic lines almost destroyed the country.” He said.
He assured Jubilee aspirants that nominations will be free and fair in the upcoming general elections.
Earlier today ,Jubilee headquarters located at Pangani Nairobi ,wasaunched and it will be used to coordinate party affairs although the
officials who will be running its affairs, have not yet been unveiled.
