Nairobi, KENYA: Kenya will be home to the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations CECAFA 2016th edition scheduled for December.
This was confirmed on Thursday by Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye, who said that the country will be able to put up a good tournament.
Kenya last hosted and won the regional showpiece in 2013 which was marred with complaints from participants; who cried foul of mismanagement.
Meanwhile, the country has also been granted rights to host the East Africa club championship, Cecafa Kagame Cup slated for December.
Establishing the decision, Musonye said Kenya will be represented by champions Gor Mahia and Ulinzi Stars with the two clubs tasked to win back the title last won by Tusker FC in 2001.
The Kagame Cup was planned for July this year but had to be rescheduled after Tanzania which was to be the host nation, pulled out citing tight fixtures for its clubs.
