Kilifi, KENYA: The media fraternity in Kenya has lost another journalist who died imminently at his home.
50-year-old Joseph Masha who was working for The Standard newspaper, died in the early hours of Saturday when he collapsed at the door of a toilet.
According to family members, Masha complained of a stomach ache the day before his demise that resulted to diarrhea.
“He complained of some stomach ache on Friday evening but it was not all that serious to an extent of being taken to hospital,” said one the family members.
“When he collapsed, we rushed him to Kilifi county Hospital but he died on the way,” added the family member.
On Friday, he seemed stable with no signs of illness but later on in the wee hours of the day he told his colleagues that he was feeling unwell with a stomach ache and that he was going home for a rest.
He has left behind a wife and five children with the last born aged 2 years.
His body is reserved in the Kilifi County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem, as preparations of his burial are underway.
