Nairobi, KENYA: National women’s soccer team Harambee Starlets has dropped two places down from position 130-132 according to the latest Rankings released by World governing body FIFA.

Contrary, Uganda whom Starlets trounced 4-0 earlier this month in a friendly match staged in Moi stadium Kisumu, are ranked three places above Kenya.

This is despite the team recording a recommendable performance in the Spanish COTIF tournament where they managed two victories and the same number of defeats in four matches they played.

Ethiopia is the best ranked team in the East Arica region, placed position 105 globally with Tanzania being the second in position 125 followed by Uganda and Kenya respectively as the best four teams.

In Africa Kenya is ranked 25th, while Nigeria is tops the chart followed by Ghana and Cameroon in that order.

Starlets are scheduled to report to camp on Monday to start their preparations for the forthcoming inaugural CECAFA Women’s Championship slated for Uganda in September 2016.
