Mombasa, KENYA: Football Kenya Federation division two league side Vimbwanga FC had Mombasa County Women representative Mishi Mboko and Likoni Member of Parliament Masoud Mwahima to thank, after the two politicians came to their rescue on Tuesday.

Vimbangwa found themselves in dilemma after they were detained by management of a Hotel in Isiolo on Monday for failing to pay their outstanding bill amounting to over sh. 10,000/-

According to club’s Chairman Mohammed Bakari Mwambindo, the team which had gone to play their weekend’s matches could not settle the accommodation and meal arrears owing to their financial woes.

However, through media reports that surfaced on Monday, Mboko and Mwahima learnt of the club’s distress after-which they sent sh. 30,000 donation as confirmed by Mwambindo.

The club was later allowed to leave the hotel and is expected back in Mombasa on Wednesday.

The club has been facing financial constraints since it only depends on well-wishers to honor its fixtures especially away matches.
