Several police uniforms and firearms recovered from suspected thugs in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: Police in Changamwe Mombasa county, on Sunday morning shot and killed two suspected thugs  recovering several police uniforms and firearms.

The suspects were killed in their hideout in KCC,Kipangani  area in Jomvu sub-county;by flying squad officers.

Police recovered a G3 riffle, 2 magazines,3pairs of Kenya police uniforms,one beret,one jungle Jacket,one police belt,20 ammunitions  one police radio gadget and a pair of police handcuffs.

Confirming the 3:45 AM incident Changamwe police boss Stephen Cheteka said the thugs have been carrying out several robberies in Kisauni and Changamwe area.

He said  police have been trailing the suspects for the last two months but the suspects have been evading traps laid for them.

“Our officers challenged the suspects but they fired back to our officers leading to exchange of fire, killing two of them on the spot,”said the police boss.

The police boss thanked  members of the public for sharing information with the police.

The bodies of the suspects were moved to Coast General Morgue awaiting autopsy.
