Nairobi, KENYA:Senate parliamentary accounts committee and investment has given Kwale governor Salim Mvurya four days to present documents which will show how sh. 49 million was spent in his county.
Mvurya who appeared before the committee ,was directed to present those documents after it emerged that there were inconsistencies on how the money was spent in various agricultural projects in the county.
“We needed to inspire our farmers ,first of all we have free ploughing where we have 42 tractors ,free seed and although you are querring this it has moved the production from three bags to twenty bags per acre.”He told the committee
Before PAC Mvurya failed to elucidate the manner in which the contractors were given contracts of suppying fertlizer and seedlings which was meant to uplift agricultural sector in Kwale county .
Mvurya also was tasked to answer querries on legality of giving out six million shillings to councilo of governors kitty .
