Mombasa, KENYA: Professional sports management company Extreme Sports Limited and Football Kenya Federation Mombasa Sub branch on Tuesday signed a three year sponsorship deal worth sh 7 million.
The partnership will see Extreme Sports cater for all the administrative costs of the Mombasa Premier League which consist of 16 teams including payment of match officials and outfitting all the participating teams.
Trophies and cash prizes awarded at the end of the league will also be provided for by Extreme Sports where the league winner will take home Ksh. 500,000, runners up will receive Ksh. 250,000 while third team will walk away with ksh. 100,000.
Speaking at the event in Tamarind Hotel Mombasa, Extreme Sports Chief Executive Officer, Hussein Mohammed said reasons behind extending their goodwill is to help nurture talents amongst the youth through sports.
‘’Our key mandate in this sponsorship is to market, promote and seek more sponsorship for the Mombasa Sub branch and the league to help young people realize their talents,’’ he said.
He further said through the sponsorship the first eight teams by the end of the league will again face off in a tournament dubbed Super Eight Tournament famously known as Super Eight that will see the eventual winner rewarded with better offers.
Extreme Sports was incorporated in 2001 as a professional sports management company and has been the organizers of Nairobi’s SportPesa Super Eight Premier league (SPS8).
