Kisii, KENYA: This weekend Kenya woke up to sad news that eight people had been killed and two critically injured when a lorry collided with two cars at Etora near Sameta in Bobasi sub-county, Kisii County.
What was very devastating about it was that majority of the deceased were university students who were headed for an evening party and only one survived the incident.
Three vehicles including a canter, a saloon car and a Voxy were involved in the 8pm Friday night accident.
All the occupants in the Voxy except for one perished, with the three passengers in the canter surviving with serious injuries.
The survivor who was among the six ladies who were travelling from Nairobi to Kisii for a birthday party, on Saturday evening spoke to the press on what happened.
According to her, they left Nairobi in a Voxy car, got to Kisii safely but their life was cut short when they embarked on the journey to where the party was to take place.
She adds that things took a turn when they changed a driver thereafter, she could not recall anything apart from screams and later on she found herself in the hospital.
She further added that they were from different Universities; Kenyatta and Dedan Kimathi Universities.
