Stockholm, SWEDEN: Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich won the 800 metres at the Diamond League meet in Stockholm on Thursday night as world-record holder David Rudisha could only manage fourth.

Rudisha is poised to defend his Olympic title in Rio this year but could not finish inside the top three.

Kenyan compatriot Rotich claimed victory ahead of Pierre-Ambroise Bosse and Adam Kszczot.

In the men’s Javelin, world champion Julius Yego once again failed to sparkle as he finished third after throwing 83.09m to see him yet to register a win this season.

On-form Abdelrahman Ihab from Egypt won after throwing 86.00m ahead of German Rohler Thomas who managed 85.89m.

In the women’s 1500m Hellen Obiri finished sixth in 4:05.88 while in the 3000m steeplechase, Kenyan-born Ruth Jebet broke the field in a meeting record of 9:08.37.
