Nairobi, KENYA: Cord co –principal also Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will be missing in action during president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Ukambani tour, after it emerged that he wasn’t served with the President’s itinerary .
In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings on Friday, Wiper Chair David Musila indicated that the decision was reached after a section of Ukambani leaders realized that they did not get any information concerning Uhuru’s tour.
“We want to say that Kalonzo Musyoka will not be available for visit ,from yesterday we have been asking for the program of the president and up to now we have no details.” Musila said
Musila added that even though Ukambani leaders were not fully notified on the tour, a couple of them will be attending the president’s functions in the course of his tour.
“We have not been informed on president’s program so we are hearing rumours as to where the president will be,we will be trying to chase a round to see whether we will be with him.” He said
He said that there is need for elected leaders to be recognized despite their party affiliations, whenever executive tours are organised across various regions in the country .
He insisted that the government has a mandate to provide development across the board.
Musila reiterated that Ukambani leaders affiliations to the president’s tour is for developmental purposes and not politics.
Uhuru is touring Ukambani for three days to launch various projects including Kitui Kibwezi Tseikuru road; which was a subject of demonstrations some days back .
