Mombasa, KENYA:Coast Council of Bishops on Friday urged Kenyans to preach peace during this time when elections are just about to be held in 2017.
Bishop Joseph Maisha t chairman Coast Council of Bishops at a press briefing held at Darajani Hotel in Mombasa congratulated the opposition party for calling off its protests.
“We want to call for national unity in our country and everbody should respect the constitution.the opposition and the goverment should hold peaceful talks and should have honesty talks, ” bishop Jones Said.
Bishop Abarijah Kinnogah the secretary coast council of Bishops at the meeting said there is freedom of protest but it should be peaceful.
“We request all denominations to pray for our country untill 2017 so that we can have peaceful elections because nobody wants kenya to go back to what happened in 2007, ” said Bishop Abarijah.
Bishop Abarijah added that they have come up with a prayer schedule.
“We have produced a timetable and specific days for all people to come together to hold serious prayers. ” said Bishop Abarijah.
