You have heard about her successful story, she has been all over the newspapers, internet and hosted on TV shows for having proved that no matter where you come from your dreams are valid; i guess it would also be very good to know who baby Lupita Nyong’o was from the dad’s perspective.

Baraka FM had an exclusive interview with her father Prof. Anyang Nyong’o, who is also Kisumu County Senator and he reveals Lupita Nyongo’s childhood details and other more about her that are unknown.

Baraka FM’s reporter Stephen Mwalili met him during a Senator’s conference in Mombasa and conducted the following interview:

MWALILI: Thank you for giving me this opportunity. Tell me how do you feel being the father of  a famous Hollywood movie star?

PROF. NYONG’O: Very happy and it’s not just me even her mother is very happy about her daughter. This is because she is doing what she like most, and when we talk about people who have taken a big step in Hollywood I think she has reached  that level.

We pray  that God may give her more strength to do greater stuff.

MWALILI: You are the father, you have been with her since she was a little girl and now she has reached to an international level, can you tell the secret behind her success?

PROF. NYONG’O:  There is no secret on that, as a parent you must educate your child and give him/her an opportunity in life. This is the only way that will make them reach any level they want to.

MWALILI:  Do you remember Lupita’s  early school life ? How was it?

PROF. NYONG’O: Yeah of course I remember all that, she went to Waridi Day Nursery school in Westlands Nairobi, later she went to Consolata School still in Nairobi. After that she joined Rusinga School before she went to St.Mary’s School in form 5 and 6.

She was very passionate about  drama ever Since her pre-school days at Waridi Nursery school.
