Governor Joho to lead IEBC demos in Mombasa on Monday

Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will on Monday lead IEBC demos in the county.

Through a Facebook post on Sunday evening Joho asked Mombasa residents to join him in a peaceful demonstration on a Monday morning.

“I humbly request you to join me, leaders and residents of Mombasa in a peaceful protest demonstration against the IEBC from 9.30am at Uhuru Gardens.” Posted Joho.

Joho further urged anyone joining the peaceful demonstration to carry a white handkerchief as a symbol of peace.

“I urge everyone to carry a white handkerchief as a symbol of peace as we deliver our petition to the IEBC offices.” Added Joho.

Joho has been hosting CORD principal and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in the county,  where they held meetings and agreed to stage the demonstrations.

Meanwhile the CORD demonstrations over removal of IEBC commisioners are scheduled to take place as it has been in the previous Mondays in Nairobi and all over the country.
