In his acceptance speech at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi , Bishop Sapit said that he is devoted in uniting the church and the country as a whole.
“The voice of the people who have spoken is the voice of God. I am coming as a humble servant. The focus right now is to unite this church so that we can unite this country,” he said.
Bishops who were also in the race include; Joel Waweru (Nairobi), Julius Wanyoike (Thika), Lawrence Dena (Malindi), James Kenneth (Southern Nyanza) and Moses Nthuka (Mbeere).
They conceded the defeat and urged other players in governance and electoral system to uphold peaceful elections and accept defeat.
