Former comedian of popular group Redyukulas who is now the Director of Communications in the Nairobi Governor’s office, Walter Mong’are, has been suspended from his job.
A letter that has been doing rounds on social media signed by County Secretary Dr Robert Ayisi, shows that Mr Mongare also know as Nyambane was advised to “comply with a previous letter” without fail.
The content of the initial letter is not known but the follow up letter warned that he would be fired by Wednesday 11th May 2016 if he hadn’t complied with the demands of the initial letter.
“Take note that you should comply with the aforesaid letter from the board dated 3rd May2016 on or before 11th May 2016 failure to which your employment with the County Government will be terminated without further reference to you. In the meantime, you hereby stand suspended from your duties forthwith,” read part of the letter.
Mr Mong’are has been alleged to get into trouble for failure to deliver in various measures aimed at revamping Governor Evans Kidero’s image.
Speaking to online publication Nairobi News, Nyambane said he had no knowledge of the letter and only got wind of it after he was contacted on Twitter by blogger, Robert Alai.
“I read malice in the manner in which the letter was leaked to the public instead of being served to me personally. Either way, I did not receive the letter. Until I receive the letter, I will continue working,” said Nyambane as quoted on the online publication.
Governor Kidero has in the recent past faced a lot of challenges in his government ranging from personal issues such as Justice Tunoi’s saga and the recent corruption expose done on his County Inspectorate.
