CORD teargassed again as Odinga vows to continue with demonstrations

Nairobi, KENYA: Teargas canisters were again lobbed at CORD leaders and their supporters on Monday ,when they stormed the IEBC headquarters in Nairobi.

This was in a bid to remove commissioners from their office as the opposition chief vowed to gear up their demos every Monday.

Speaking while heading to The Anniversary the opposition chief Raila Odinga told his supporters that the three principals Moses Wetangula ,Kalonzo Musyoka and him (Raila Odinga ) will not give up.

“CORD is intact ,Wetangaula, Steve and Raila are always together we will not be intimidated by jubilee we will stay firm ,Monday next week we will be here.” Raila said.

Drama started when some CORD members of parliament and their supporters tried to force their way into the Anniversary entrance when police started engaging them by lobbing teargas unto them.

The engagement prolonged to the University of Nairobi and lasted for sometime until their was normalcy at the anniversary and Waiyaki way there were demonstrations since morning hours.

The leaders vehemently condemned the assassination of controversial Nairobi business man Jacob Juma terming the act uncalled for.

CORD has been calling for demonstrations across the country to express their displeasure on incompetency and corruption allegations leveled against IEBC commissioners.

Also the court granted the coalition an avenue to picket, warning them that they must stick to upholding peaceful demonstrations.
