Missing secondary female student found dead at Shelly beach

Mombasa, KENYA: A decomposed body of a form two student who went missing two weeks ago in Likoni was discovered Thursday at Shelly beach.

The body was found a few meters from the beach  late Thursday evening, according to local village elder identified only as Njagi.

“We can tell this is a female, the body is too badly decomposed it seems she was gang raped before she was murdered,” Njagi said.

According to witnesses at the scene,the girl’s body was badly mutilated and she had no clothes.

Njagi said they contacted Likoni police station to assist in removing the remains.

When contacted Likoni Police Chief Willy Simba,confirmed that the body belongs to a form two female student who was being searched for by police after his father reported that she was missing.

“The body belong to 16 year old,she was a student at puma secondary school in Likoni she went missing on 26/4 /2016. ” Said the police chief.

“His father Ezekiel Ombaso had earlier reported the matter at the station and we had circulated the incident to other police stations to help us in searching,” the police boss added.

The police boss noted that investigations will be ‘wider’; meaning a number of people will have to record a statement to unravel the misery.

The body was moved to Coast General Hospital morgue.
