Mombasa,KENYA:The government has announced appropriate measures to ensure all public primary schools teachers receive adequate training on how to use laptops it recently distributed to public schools.
Speaking to Baraka Fm on phone, Mombasa County Education director Abdhikadir Kike, said the government began training teachers on the said project in 2015.
Kike added that the government has also put in place proper security measures in each school to secure the devices.
According to Kike, schools that benefited from the laptop project in Mombasa County are Mujabu, Spaki and Kisauni primary schools.
At least 150 urban, peri-urban and rural schools across the country have received the gadgets as the government moves to fulfill the promise made by Jubilee in 2013.
The project was part of the promises given by the Jubilee administration during the 2013 campaigns.
The delay in honouring the pledge has made the opposition to criticize Jubilee, accusing the ruling coalition of failure to fulfill pre-election promises.
All primary schools were set to be connected to the national electricity grid by June 2016 in anticipation of the rollout of the laptops project.
