Kisumu, KENYA: Western Stima added salt to the healing AFC Leopards wound by trouncing them 2-1 in a midweek Sportpesa premier league fixture staged at the Moi stadium Kisumu on Wednesday.
Two goals in either half from Fredrick Shimonyo and Fredrick Nyarombo meant Clifton Miheso’s strike could only earn Leopards a consolation as the hosts match on with three points.
The defeat extended Leopards’ winless streak to three matches on the spin and could jilt their title hopes should other teams claim victory.
With the success Stima jumped to fourth in the standings on 17 points, one a drift of third placed Leopards after 11 matches out.
The league will continue on Thursday with seven matches on cards.
Log toppers Mathare United will be away at second placed Tusker in a top of the table clash, Ulinzi Stars will entertain Chemelil Sugar while bottom based Sofapaka will visit struggling Thika United.
