South African club Ajax Cape Town on Monday confirmed the signing of Kenyan international midfielder Ali Abondo on a two year deal.
In statement released by the club on its official portal, the decision was reached after the player impressed Ajax’s technical bench during his successful training stint with the club earlier this year.
‘’The club wishes to express a warm welcome to Victor Ali Abondo. May his stay with Ajax Cape Town bring success to both the team and the player,’’ reads in part the statement.
Speaking shortly after completing his dream move Abondo could not hide his excitement as he promise to make the deal a productive one by pushing to the limit.
“It’s a good feeling to finally sign for Ajax Cape Town. This is what I’ve always dreamt of. I consider Ajax as one of the best club’s in the PSL,’’ said a delighted Abondo.
He could still feature for Ajax, placed 10th in the ABSA Premiership standings depending on approval of his work permit.
The Kenyan playmaker was part of the squad that steered Gor Mahia to unbeaten 2015 Kenya Premier League season but opted out at the end of the season in search of new venture.
