Nairobi, KENYA: CORD leaders together with their supporters on Monday camped at Anniversary towers hoping to flush out IEBC offices only to end up engaging the police in a running battle when the demonstration turned riotous.
Supporters rendered some of the roads in Nairobi un-accessible that is the University Way and part of Moi avenue with the anti-riot police lobbing teargas to disperse them.
The march was meant to push the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) towards approving the Okoa Kenya signatures that had been faulted by the commission.
Led by party officials the supporters took to the streets bearing twigs and chanting anti-IEBC slogans in the march to the IEBC offices at Anniversary towers.
Despite the presence of the anti-riot police that had been deployed to seal off the offices ahead of the march, the supporters went on with their protests chanting in Swahili that the fight was on.
