Lagos, NIGERIA: Nigerian Football Federation on Thursday drew global attention after it listed deceased referee to officiate a league match slated for this weekend.
The late Wale Akinsanya was listed as the match day referee in a tie pitting two local rivals Warri Wolves and Giwa FC billed for Sunday.
The federation officials however did not explain how Akinsanya would be contacted for the work awaiting.
This happened despite records showing that the same Akinsanya died on January 22, 2016 during a FIFA Cooper Test in Ibadan.
According to reports this came as result of two opposing groups who are tussling to climb at the helm of the embattled Nigerian football federation.
